Fine Weather for a Shoot!

And about time, I say!

The wonderful :iconniansa: and I had the opportunity to work together again today, and for once the weather was great. Look for shots soon!

Photographers, you should take the opportunity to work with this marvellous lady. :camera:

Thanks :iconniansa: - a great shoot, and At Last the weather was kind to us!

Cheers!

Patience - more than a virtue!

Funny the way things go sometimes. Some might call it Murphy's Law, others maybe Sod's Law, but there are just some days..... :raincloud:

Despite the constant threat of rain and the low light, I finally got to shoot with the wonderful :iconniansa: on Sunday afternoon. Didn't end up in the spot I'd planned due to the weather, but still managed to get a few good shots at the other location. We both commented on how fast it got dark, and the mist, as it rolled in, had us both thinking of the Stephen King book / film of the same name! :O_o:

Anyway, got back out to the Highway at Wentworth Falls.....and the traffic was almost stopped heading down the mountain! A Highway Patrol car, lights and sirens blazing, went by in the same direction the traffic was pointing, so it was decided to head UP the mountains, go across the Darling Causeway, and come down the Bells Line of Road.

After heading up the mountains, passing lonnnnnnnnng lines of slowly moving cars going the other way, we finally turned onto the Causeway, to be met by a sign : BELLS LINE OF ROAD CLOSED. :wtf:

Which meant we had to join on the end of all of that traffic, and have a long, slow, weary trip down the mountains...... :ohmygod:

That's where the patience comes into it. Throughout the whole experience, a marvellous :iconniansa: sat calmly through it all with fantastic patience, as we passed the time in the traffic. I have to hand it to this lady, who remained cheerful throughout! No mean task, given that she was stuck in the car with me for nearly three hours!

Thanks :iconniansa: Here's to the next shoot - with a lot less traffic! :salute:

I'm gonna rent myself to farmers...

Well, at least shoot near their farms.

Had a shoot arranged this afternoon with the wonderful :iconniansa: I was in Lithgow last night, and as I left I thought that the weather was looking good; light overcast and not too cold.

I drove back through some of the heaviest hail I've ever driven through, from Mt. Bell all the way to Mt. Tomah Bothanic Gardens. :raincloud:

At one point there was so much hail on the road that not only couldn't I see the white lines, but the car was starting to slide around. With me in 2nd gear doing about 40km/h. Egaaaaad! I hope my dry cleaner can keep a secret.....

Needless to say, after a couple of telephone calls, the shoot had to be postponed. As I type, it's still raining. The sun even came out a while back as it continued to bucket down. :wtf: The previous few days had been pretty good. I know we (and more so those on the Land) need the rain, but why today, I ask myself?

Somedays, it all just flows!

There are some days when you go into a shoot, and no matter how you prepare, nothing works. There are other days that the shoot just flows, and everything just hums. Everything is going so well that you don't want to stop. I'm happy to say that today I had a shoot that fell into the latter category.

The shoot was a studio based lingerie / glamour style (I'll post shots soon) in an inner Sydney studio. But of course, I cannot take all of the credit. Most of the hard yards were done by the wonderful :iconjezzamyn: whom I'd happily recommend to any photographer wanting a committed model who needed very little direction. It was an absolute pleasure to work with this lady today, and I advise everyone to work with her soon.

Thanks Jezzamyn; it was beauteous! :worship: :winner: :thanks:

Back on Track - Sort of....

A short note to let folks know that the problems I've been having with my regular e-mail seem to be fixed. One or two gremlins still in the system, but nothing of any major consequence.

I'll be out of town for a day or two, but checking up on things through a friends computer as I can (how on earth do you drive one of these Apple things anyway.....? )
